Terror group Al Shabaab has dismissed government claims that they stole a biometric voter registration (BVR) kit during Thursday’s attack on a police camp in Mandera County.
According to the group, the Kenyan government was spreading propaganda.
“The Mujahideen termed as false the claims of the Kenyan Government that some of the things we have seized include some of the election equipment known as BVR,” read a statement on the groups radio.
The group confirmed that they stole items from the police station but the BVR kits were not part of them.
"Mujahideen say those equipment were not part of the spoils seized,”read the statement.
