Outspoken blogger Robert Alai has weighed in the ongoing talk about the forthcoming 2022 general elections.
In a tweet on Thursday, Alai reiterated that the most sort after politician is Deputy President William Ruto and parties within National Super Alliance (NASA) are ready to form a coalition with him (Ruto).
In his view, Raila can only be president if he is not on the ballot as his candidature will only unite his 'haters' behind the DP.
"The girl everyone is fighting for here is William Ruto. Ambitious parties in NASA wants a coalition with William. Again, Raila's candidature in 2022 against Ruto is what will unify all his haters behind Ruto. Raila can only be President by him not being in the ticket," tweeted Alai.
On March 4 however, the DP downplayed 2022 political talk and called on leaders to focus on the pledges made to the people during campaigns.
“The debate of who will get what post in 2022 is not necessary now. Our agenda now as leaders should be to concentrate on fulfilling the pledges we made to the people during the electioneering period. It’s immoral and unacceptable to continue putting the country in an election mood. We should not continue manipulating the constitution to fit our political discourse. ,” reiterated Ruto as quoted by the Nation.
