Maseno area chief, Nicholas Toro has warned bodaboda operators to be cautious and not allow the school boys to be ride bodabodas.

Concern has been raised over the increasing number of teenagers operating bodabodas in Maseno either carrying customers or riding for fun. Most of them are reckless, careless and do not even put on appropriate protective gears.

Speaking in Maseno market on Monday the area chief warned the operators from collaborating with minors stating that stern legal action will be taken against those found.

“Let us all help safeguard our safety, let us also protect our children it’s upon us to take this responsibility and for those under 18 years operating as operators you should refrain as from now. Those who will be found collaborating with these minors, your bike be will confiscated and face the law.,” warned Toro.

Ezekiel Ogolla, the chairperson of the bodaboda operators echoed the area chief sentiments and urged his fellow operators to adhere to what they had been told. He also urged them to be cautious when riding saying safety for them and their customers is paramount.
