Kisii county Public Health Department is now planning to move to court and seek a green light to bury over 50 bodies that have been lying at the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary for months now.
Mr Melitus Kabari, the Public Health boss in Kisii County, said that since noone was claiming the bodies their was no need of leaving them pile up in the mortuary.
He also asked members of the public to help them in identifying the bodies.
'Once the courts give us a green light we shall identify a place where we shall bury the bodies so as to give space to other bodies," he said.
According to Mr Kebari, the number of bodies being taken to the mortuary grew on a daily basis.
Mr Kebari also sent an appeal to members of the public whose relatives have been missing for days should report to the hospital's management or even make a report to the nearest police station.
