A report by the Education Commission has revealed almost half of teachers in Kenyan primary schools never attend lessons , something he commission says costs the government Sh27 billion every year.
According to the report, approximately 16 per cent of the school masters never report to school at all.
What the report means is that of the 200,000 teachers in these schools, at least 30,000 of them never report to school while some 90,000 who report at their workstations do not attend classes.
This report was made to UN Secretary-General Ban Kin-moon in the ongoing 71st General Assembly.
