Former NACADA chairman John Mututho now says that drugs and alcohol have been introduced in the ongoing initiation ceremonies for boys during the December holidays.

While terming the issue as serious, Mututho noted that hard drugs are part of the ritual. He said Central and parts of Western Kenya are the most affected. Addressing the press in Naivasha, Mututho identified bhang, tobacco, and cigarettes as some of the drugs being introduced to initiates. “Am deeply concerned by the ongoing cases where young boys are been supplied with drugs and alcohol as part of the initiation ceremony,” he said. The former Naivasha MP called on parents and the church to come out publicly and condemn the vice.
