Wanyanga who was accompanied by officers from Kebs, KRA, Nacada among others said that the importer had not met all the requirements pertaining imported products.

"When you are an importer, you are supposed to have a declared warehouse for your goods  but this gentleman keeps his products in his residential store," Wanyanga said.

"Now we have agreed that the store is going to be seized and sealed by KRA until he establishes another store after which they will be able to open the store for him to transport the products to a recognized warehouse," he added.

Wanyanga said that the crackdown on illicit and substandard brews will go on till Kiambu becomes 'sober'.

John Githiomi, the owner of the the imported alcohol, said he was going to comply with the county commissioner's directive saying he was an 'honest' businessman.

He added that he was in support of the ongoing crackdown as infiltration of counterfeits into their businesses had led them to make losses.
