Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter has described leaders opposed to President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga's unity bid as selfish.
Keter on Wednesday said those opposed to the famous "golden handshake" are out to ensure Kenyans remain divided as they reap from such division and instability in the country. Such leaders, the youthful MP said should be shunned at the ballot.
"There are so many people who are against the handshake because they are selfish, they are narrow-minded," Keter told NTV.
"I am so happy about the sacrifice that was made between President Kenyatta and Raila Odinga," he added.
Uhuru and Raila met at the commander in chief's Harambee House office where they agreed to work together in ensuring Kenyans unite for purposes of developing the country in unison.
The handshake, has, however, elicited criticism from a section of leaders especially from Rift Valley who claim there is a hidden agenda in Uhuru and Raila's move.
Some alleged Uhuru and Raila are out to block Deputy President William Ruto's bid to succeed Uhuru in 2022.
The recent meetings between Raila and former presidents Mwai Kibaki and Daniel Arap Moi, they, claim were aimed at seeking the two leader's opinion on how best to block Ruto from ascending to the presidency.
