Maendeleo Chap Chap (MCC) party will get key positions in government if President Uhuru Kenyatta is re-elected in the forthcoming August 8 general elections.
Speaking at a public rally in Machakos town, Party Leader Alfred Mutua, disclosed President Kenyatta has pledged to involve MCC in the next government through sharing of positions.
“We will benefit from appointments to senior positions in the national government,” Mutua told the gathering as quoted by the Star.
However, the Machakos Governor noted although he is backing Kenyatta for The Presidency in August, he will support aspirants seeking other positions on his party.
“We as a party have agreed to support President Uhuru’s bid for a second term, but we are neither in the Jubilee nor NASA coalitions. We are independent,” he said.
Mutua added: "It is impossible to support a competing party. I only want to work with leaders with whom we share common ideals."
He will face off Jubilee gubernatorial seat nominee Lemi Muia and Wiper's Wavinya Ndeti.
Mutua had dismissed Wavinya's nomination as a pure propaganda, arguing that Wiper already had an agreement with Wavinya's Chama Cha Uzalendo to give her a direct ticket.
