Speaking during a tour of the constituency to celebrate High court ruling that upheld his victory on Wednesday, Mbogo said that he is ready for bigger responsibilities in the future.

The Wiper MP said that Kisauni people have confidence and trust in him and would support him should he seek bigger duties.

Mbogo, however, said that he is contented and focused on serving residents.

“My focus now is to deliver services and fully represent Kisauni people in the National Assembly but when the time comes we will discuss other issues,” he said.

The Wiper lawmaker said that Kisauni has lagged behind on development, adding that his focus is to improve education, create jobs, end crime and drug abuse.

The MP promised to deliver on the pledges he made to locals in the run-up to the last year's general election.

He asked residents to shun politicians preaching propaganda and hatred.

“The election is over and we as leaders must focus on serving Kenyans wholeheartedly 2022,” he added.

On  Monday,  Mombasa High court upheld Mbogo’s victory, ruling that he was validly elected.

High Court Judge Erick Ogolla dismissed a petition that had been filed by former MP Rashid Bedzimba.

Mbogo’s win according to analysts is a plus for him even as 2022 succession politics starts to take shape.

Political pundits opine that Mbogo could be among the few politicians eyeing to succeed governor Hassan Joho in 2022.

Joho is serving his second and final term.

Other Mombasa politicians who could succeed Joho are Mvita MP Abdulswamad Nassir, Likoni’s Mishi Mboko, Rashid Bedzimba and Joho's deputy William Kingi.

Analysts note that Governor Joho could openly endorse the Mvita MP who is considered his personal confidant and loyalist.
