Founder and executive chair of online shopping platform Alibaba[.]com Jack Ma is set to visit Africa for the first time when he comes to Nairobi today.

Ma is on a three-day visit to the continent lasting from July 19 to 21 and is expected to grace the YouthConnekt Africa Summit later in Rwanda.

“Realizing Africa’s youth potential”conference is also expected to congregate 1,500 participants including officials from the government, investors,  entrepreneurs, multinationals, and business startups shaping Africa's technological ecosystem to dialogue on ways methods of using technology to drive the continent's economic growth.

“He brings to the continent a visionary approach to entrepreneurship, a thirst for learning, and a belief in a better world for young people,”said  UNCTAD Secretary-General Mukhisa Kituyi in a statement.
