All public learning institutions in Garissa County will have unlimited access to electricity by the end September, Energy and Petroleum CS Charles Keter has said.
Speaking in Dadaab power station on Tuesday, Keter noted that only eight out of the 605 public schools in the county had been connected to electricity.
The CS said the Jubilee government is committed to ensuring that electricity reaches to every Kenyan household without discrimination.
“In a month’s time, all learning institutions in Garissa County will have access to power. This is a government project and we will ensure all Kenyans get very affordable electricity,” he said.
CS Keter was in Dadaab constituency to commission a power project which was funded by the Kenyan government in conjunction with the United Nation High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR).
