Machakos county governor Alfred Mutua has asserted his commitment to improving water supply in the region where his administration looks to connect every household with piped water.
Speaking on Thursday after holding a meeting with water project managers and officers, Mutua announced that his government has sunk over 190 boreholes this far.
"I am happy with the progress we have made so far in the water department. So far about 190 boreholes have been sunk and connected with solar power," Mutua said.
"I am determined to ensure that all households in Machakos county can access clean drinking water by the end of next year," he added.
Mutua further confirmed that his government has developed an online database website for the public to know where the boreholes are located.
