Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has said that National Super Alliance (NASA), under the leadership of Raila Odinga will ensure there is equity in the distribution of natural resources among Kenyans, if they win the election.
Speaking in Lodwar, Kalonzo accused the Jubilee regime of sidelining a section of Kenyans, adding that this will not be the case if NASA takes over the government.
“Jubilee is busy eating meat as the rest of Kenyans salivate. But when we get to power, we will ensure every Kenyan gets meat. We will ensure the people’s rights will be taken care of,” he said as quoted by Star.
On his part, Raila said that he will ensure Turkana residents benefit from Petroleum discovered in the region once he takes over power come August 8th.
“The people of Turkana are not supposed to be poor. That is why I will sign the Petroleum Bill into law. You are poor because of years of marginalization and this is what we want to end. We want to ensure residents get their rightful share of resources,” he said.
This comes a few months after President Kenyatta differed bitterly with Governor Josphat Nanok over oil mining in the area.
