The governor of Machakos County Dr Alfred Mutua has affirmed that all health facilities in Machakos county will soon be operating according to local and international requirements.
Speaking on Wednesday in his office during a meeting with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board (KMPDB) and Health Ministry officials, Dr Mutua stated the group would form partnership to improve health sector.
"Today I invited the KMPDB chairman Prof George Magoha and the CEO Daniel Yumbya so as to work with the Ministry health in ensuring Machakos serves as an example of counties working under all World Health Organization (WHO) requirements," said Mutua.
Mutua further stated the county government of Machakos was underway in getting more medical practitioners to arrive at the proper ratio expected.
On Thursday, several illegal clinic operators were arrested after a crackdown was carried out around the county.
However Machakos level 5 Hospital was recommended for maintaining high standards in both cleanliness and up to date medical facilities.
