In a bid to ensure that there is an adequate and transparent accountability in all the NGOs in the country, the National Council of the NGOs has embarked on a very massive process of accessing all the ongoing operations of the Civil Societies in the country.

Speaking to the press on Saturday while in Eldoret town during the launch of the audit process, Wilson Kipkazi, council chairman said that all the NGOs and the Civil Societies organizations which will not abide to the rules will suffer very stiff and harsh consequences which can also leads to sanctions of their funding.

"We want all the NGOs to take responsibility and also to declare all their activities and also how they use all the funds that they receive. In short we want them to be fully accountable to each and every penny that they receive as funds," Kipkazi said.

Kipkazi announced that the grand audit will be rolled out in all the counties and he strongly urged all the registered NGOs to take process in the audit.

"We are giving a stern warning to all the NGOs to ensure that they participate in the audit process. Failure to that the Council will be forced to deregister those that will have failed to take part," Kipkazi said.

The Council Chairman urged the NGOs to strictly stick to the activities and the agenda that they have been registered for and to ensure that they strictly follow the rules and regulations governing them.
