Mr Odinga who was speaking during the launch of a water project in Kisian Primary School in Kisumu West said Kisumu Central, Nyakach, Nyando, Muhoroni and Seme had performed below par and needed to improve for him to have a better shot at presidency come 2017.

“Kisumu East and Kisumu West tied at position one having registered 65 per cent of the target and this is recommendable. They should now aim at surpassing the 100 per cent target and register more voters,” said Raila.

The other sub-counties registered less than 51 per cent by the close of the first mass voter registration.

Area leaders including Kisumu West legislator Olago Aluoch and his Kisumu East counterpart Shakeel Shabbir vowed to hit the target in the continuous voter registration.

“We promise you our party leader that we will mobilise even more voters and even adults who have attained the age of 18, to apply for national ID cards and voters card to boost the numbers,” said Olago.

He added that he will work together with all the leaders in the sub-county to ensure the exercise yields the desired results.
