The opposition National Super Alliance (NASA) is on its first official campaign in Kakamega town today Saturday.
NASA is set to unveil a basketful of goodies for the highly populated Western region in an effort to ward off Jubilee’s onslaught.
Led by flag bearer Raila Odinga, the team will unveil the Western Region Investment Conference that outlines several programmes aimed at empowering the four counties of Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma and Busia as well as the Luhya-populated Trans Nzoia county economically.
Nasa chiefs including Raila’s running mate Kalonzo Musyoka, ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi, Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto and Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetang'ula are all expected to first meet at the Golf Hotel.
They will then leave for Bukhungu stadium in a caravan of vehicles.
“You should all turn up in large numbers at Bukhungu Stadium to send a powerful message to Jubilee about where our support lies. President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto should know that voters in Kakamega are fully behind Odinga,” said Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya.
