Kisumu Governor Prof Anyang Nyong'o in a meeting with a delegation from Kisumu Local Interactive Platform (KLP), November 8, 2017.[Photo/Anyang Nyong'o]Kisumu Governor Prof Anyang Nyong'o held a meeting with a delegation from Kisumu Local Interactive Platform (KLP).KLIP in partnership with Swedish International Development Fund (SIDA) work with researchers in Universities in Sweden, the United Kingdom, South Africa and Kenyan universities Maseno and Bondo towards best practice exchange in the area of urban cities.The courtesy call was held to discuss the upcoming global conference which opens in Kisumu at the Imperial Hotel from November 13th - 17th under the theme "Realising a just city; learning by comparison".The governor said the conference will explore how urban cities can be re- engineered towards being engines of economic growth especially but no limited to, looking towards empowering women, youth and the disabled who are under represented in the urban equation.The researchers cover areas of urban agriculture, people, infrastructure, tourism and urban governance towards creating sustainable wealth creation.
