All is set for this year's national Labour Day celebrations at Uhuru Park.
The annual event marked globally on May 1, will be held at Uhuru Park grounds in Nairobi at the national level, under the leadership of the Central Organisation of Trade Unions (Cotu) and the Ministry of Labour led by Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yattani.
Cotu confirmed all was set for the fete, even as Secretary General Francis Atwoli led procession to Uhuru Park on Tuesday morning.
Cotu advised all workers to attend the event which President Uhuru Kenyatta is scheduled to grace.
Several government leaders and stakeholders from various industries and companies are expected to attend.
"Today we celebrate the achievements of Kenya's dedicated labour force. We in the Senate particularly celebrate the over 80 percent that serve in our robust informal sector and their contribution to our economy. Happy Labour Day!" said the Senate in a communique.
The same fete is expected to be held at the County level.
