President Uhuru Kenyatta will on Tuesday lead Kenyans to celebrate the Jamhuri Day at the Kasarani Stadium.
The president will be making a return to the same venue he was sworn in two weeks ago, as he leads the country in the first Jamhuri celebrations in his second term in office.
Government spokesman Eric Kiraithe has urged Kenyans to turn up in large numbers for the event.
He has further guaranteed Kenyans enough security on the day.
“Being one of the most important dates on the country’s calendar, Kenyans are once again invited to rally in unity around the values of patriotism and moving the country forward in the spirit of Kenya mbele,” Mr Kiraithe said.
The country celebrates the day Kenya became a republic in 1964, and this year will be special.
It will be a peaceful day after the NASA coalition called off their swearing-in plans, saying it has been postponed.
The gates will be open from 7 am in the morning.
