The Kathiani legislator states that the party top organ will convene on Thursday to deliberate on key issues before the Friday delegates conference.

Mbui says that party delegates from all the regions in the country are expected to attend the meeting.

According to Mbui, all elected and nominated leaders will also be present at the meeting in Nairobi’s Komarock area.

The Kathiani lawmaker on Wednesday told journalists that the meeting is crucial and will make key deliberations.

Mbui said that meeting's key agenda will be to take stock of its activities in regards to last year’s general election.

“We want to gauge our performance and set strategies moving forward especially in regards to the 2022 presidential election where our party leader will be a candidate,” he said on Wednesday.

Mbui stated that the party’s officials and delegates will also be briefed on the resolutions made by the National Super Alliance (NASA) summit held meeting on Monday.

Kalonzo’s national party delegates meeting comes as claims of cracks in the National super alliance continue to emerge.

The meeting also comes on the backdrop of NASA leader Raila Odinga’s last week meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The Uhuru-Raila surprise meeting continues to elicit reactions with questions on why Raila agreed to meet the president in absence of his co-principals Kalonzo Musyoka, Moses Wetangula, and Musalia Mudavadi.

On Wednesday, Kalonzo who held a closed-door meeting with Kamba elders and church leaders in Machakos town said that that he alongside Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula are seeking a meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta once he Jets back from Cuba where he is on official duty.

The Wiper leader said that it will be important for them to get details of what Uhuru discussed with former Prime Minister Raila Odinga when they met on Friday last week as they prepare the way for national dialogue and reconciliation.
