It is all systems go for preparations of the forthcoming and long awaited 5th Annual Devolution Conference set to be convened in Kakamega town.
This came to the fore when Kakamega County Governor Wycliffe Oparanya addressed the press in Kisumu City on the status of the important devolution summit which will kick off on April 23 to 27 this year.
Governor Oparanya, who is also the Chairman of the Lake Region Economic Block (LREB), disclosed that at least 6000 delegates were expected to grace the Devolution conference.
He said that preparations were are in top gear and on their last facets.
The Governor was flanked by Council of Governors CEO, Jacqueline Mogeni.
Oparanya noted that the guests would take advantage of the event to engage International Development partners to financially support development of the tourist industry in the county.
“The event will also be a major boost to the tourism and hotel industry as the guests will be staying in local hotels both in Kisumu and Kakamega,” stated Governor Oparanya.
Among the dignitaries expected to make keynote addresses are the President Uhuru Kenyatta, his William Ruto and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga among other key delegates.
