Lands Cabinet Secretary Jacob Kaimenyi has said all title deeds issued by the government in 2013 are valid.
Speaking on Wednesday, Kaimenyi rubbished claims that the High Court had nullified the title deeds, observing that the court had only directed the lands ministry to adjust its land laws in line with the 2016 Amendment Act.
"I wish to assure the public that contrary to what is reported in Standard newspaper of January 17, 2017 and other media, grants, leases and certificates of titles issued by the ministry after 2013 are legal, valid and legitimate," he said.
Kaimenyi further demanded that The Standard Newspaper apologises over a story it ran on Tuesday, alleging that the 2013 title deeds were illegal.
"The Standard Newspaper should unreservedly apologise for creating fear and doubt on land ownership documents processed since 2013," he said.
"Without doing so it is likely to erode investors confidence in our motherland," he added.
