Speaking during a press release in Machakos county, the county boss hinted that the project which is underway will provide clean piped water to at least 300,000 homes.

“Machakos county, so far  has 255 boreholes that have been dug through this initiative and the process of equipping them is still underway. The county government has eight machines that are fully functional and which are to be used to dig up more boreholes in the county,” Mutua said.

Mutua however warned vandals who have been targeting solar panels and pipes installed in the ongoing multi-million project that they risked being arrested if found.

He added that the dug boreholes and pipe-canals must and will be used in the process.

“The project entails two faces. There is no borehole that has been dug that will be abandoned at that stage. They all have to pass through the second stage of equipping them with solar panels, tanks and tapes necessary.” He added.
