A Nakuru businessman accused of land fraud was on Tuesday arraigned in court and charged with the offence.
Stephen Langat Kiplimo was accused of receiving money by false pretense through selling land at Ol-Rongai farm to three different buyers.
Langat was also accused of giving false information by forging the land title deed so as to to woo more buyers to purchase the land.
The said piece of land was however discovered to belong one Susan Mwihaki as indicated in the county land registrar’s office.
The court also heard that the accused had previously been charged with a similar offence at a Naivasha court early last year and that he was still out on bond.
Mr Langat was apprehended at Nakuru Township on June 6. He is believed to have received a total of Ksh 4 million in a period of one year.
Before resident magistrate Bernard Mararo, the accused pleaded not guilty to the charges and was later released on a bond of Ksh 3 million or a surety of the same amount or an alternative cash bail of Ksh 2 million.
Hearing of the matter was fixed for August 2.
