Drama at Alliance High School is far from over as the school's Old Boys' association is now calling for the resignation of the current board.

The association has accused the current board of failing to show effective leadership at the helm and “sleeping on the job”.

According to a report compiled by association leaders, the former students have threatened to withdraw their support at the school should the board members refuse to resign voluntarily.

This latest development comes at a time the school is marred in the murk of student bullying that caused the exit of Principal David Kariuki last month.

Lenana Principal William Mwangi has since replaced Kariuki even though the committee had proposed interim Principal Muchiri Mukunga to be confirmed.

The letter from the old boys said that anyone who has served on the board for more than six years should be sent packing.

“After consulting with a wide range of stakeholders, the committee advises that there is need for the board to be reconstituted. Members who have served more than six years should resign,” read part of the letter compiled by an eight–member team spearheaded by Prof Alfred Omenya.

The old students are also demanding that they be given room to exercise an expanded role in the school's management.
