Nyando MP Fred Outa on Wednesday dismissed social media reports that he perished in a road accident alongside his driver.

Outa said he was a live and termed the reports as malicious.

The MP said he was astonished with the reports that went viral and caused a lot of anxiety to his family.

“My family was traumatized by the death reports. I want to categorically state that I am in good health and was never involved in a road accident,” he said.

He said with the help of relevant authorities, he will track down the source of the information and prefer charges.

Speaking to the press in Kisumu, Outa said this is the second time reports on social media link him to death.

He read political moves into the malicious reports noting that he will not be cowed.

“This can be political bearing in mind that 2017 is just around the corner and my competitors want to instill fear in my supporters,” he said.

Outa who has announced his intention to vie for Kisumu Senatorial seat in 2017 says his ambitions will not be jolted.

He assured his supporters and constituents that he is safe.

The social media report that went rival said that Outa alongside his driver died along Kisumu-Kakamega road on Tuesday evening.
