Speaking at Ndeiya trading center in Limuru on Wednesday when he issued bursary funds to needy but bright students, Kabogo said that he is not afraid of Waititu or anyone else who has shown interest in the Kiambu gubernatorial seat.

Kabogo said that he is the kingpin of Kiambu’s politics and that he is not afraid of anyone.

“Some people are going around saying that Kabogo is afraid of Waititu and others, let me tell them that I am not afraid because Kiambu people will re-elect me come 2017,” said the governor.

Kabogo said that everyone is entitled to run for leadership position anywhere in the country adding that Waititu’s entrance into Kiambu is not a threat to his political career.

Kabogo however cautioned his opponents against spreading false information about him and his government.

“People should engage in constructive politics other than engage in tarnishing my name,” said the Kiambu governor.

On Friday last week Kabogo filed a case in court claiming that Waititu has no university qualifications and that he does not qualify to hold public office and that he has violated articles 10, 38, and 78 of the Constitution.

The entry of Waititu into Kiambu politics has created political heat with a section of politicians in the county openly supporting his bid for the 2017 gubernatorial seat.

Waititu has maintained that he will challenge for the Kiambu gubernatorial seat stating that locals want him to vie for the Kiambu top seat.
