With the race for the Kisumu gubernatorial seat reaching peak, incumbent Jackson Ranguma has vowed to give his closest challenger, area Senator Prof Anyang' Nyong'o a political lesson.
In what is expected to be a battle of the titans, the two senior politicians from the region are all eyeing the ODM party ticket, a popular political outfit in the region.
Nyong'o who boastsof a formidable reputation as a smart politician should however, brace for a real contest in his long political career that spans nearly 30 years.
Ranguma on his part is ready to take on Nyong'o and he believes that the party nomination process will be fair.
"Some aspirants are walking up and down peddling propaganda that they have ODM tickets," he said when he spoke to Nation.
"They are worried because they are not used to clean competition."
The two leaders have in the past engaged in verbal attacks with the Senator accusing the Governor of mismanaging county affairs, claims Mr Ranguma denies even as he questions Nyong'o's development record during the many years he has been in politics.
The race has also attracted businessman Hezborn MacObewa and the current deputy Governor Ruth Odinga.
