The Ambassador of Kenya to Pakistan Prof Julius Bitok through his Ambassador Bitok Foundation has promised to sponsor 1000 students from Uasin Gishu county through education scholarships.
Speaking at Chepkigen Secondary School in Cheptiret, Mr Bitok said the scholarships were meant to help the needy students who could not afford secondary education and higher learning.
"We are committed to extend our financial support to these students and ensure they stay in school throughout their learning period," he said.
The ambassador issued cheques to the beneficiaries as well as solar lamps, geometrical sets and stationery to the students at Chepkigen secondary school.
He also donated a gate to the school.
This program is perceived as one way of giving back to the society and will benefit many needy students in Uasin Gishu as he promised to do more.
