The latest to decamp is Kenya's ambassador to Tanzania Chirau Ali Mwakwere who has ditched Jubilee and joined Raila Odinga's Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

Mwakwere, nicknamed Zipapa, is the former Matuga MP who vied for the Kwale Senatorial seat in 2013 but lost to Senator Boy Juma Boy.

He has announced that he is in the race to oust Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya in the 2017 election.

The staunch Jubilee Coalition member after the grand coalition government was rewarded for his loyalty by being appointed an ambassador to Tanzania.

His move to ODM was revealed after having lunch with ODM leader Raila Odinga and Mombasa governor Hassan Joho.

Mwakwere, a former Cabinet Minister in the Grand Coalition government will run against Governor Mvurya who recently ditched ODM for Jubilee Party.
