Uriri politician Paul Odhiambo said the proposal is the only way to consider number two in the presidential race election.

Odhiambo said would that clause be included in the constitution, the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga would have been in the Senate.

He said Raila has laboured for this country, and continued to ensure devolution works, and he ought not to have been out of the Senate.

“Kenyans are missing the services of Raila Odinga in the house. Constitution must be amended so that future presidential candidates who finish second are accommodated,” he said.

He added that the opposition MPs should now sponsor a Bill in parliament to insert the clause in the constitution.

Speaking to the press in Uriri over the weekend, Odhiambo, who is keen to clinch Uriri parliamentary seat in 2017 general election said the constitution is unfair to candidates who emerge second.

“Let our MPs marshal support and bring this amendment in the national assembly since it will benefit all Kenyans,” he said.

Odhiambo added that if the opposition parliamentarians fail to table such a Bill, then once elected in 2017 he will ensure that the constitution is amended.

Odhiambo said Raila has remained steadfast in ensuring that CORD counties are connected to investors in the developed nations, and his services would be very instrumental if he was in the Senate.
