Celebrated American gospel singer Donnie McClurkin was on Tuesday morning stranded at the Moi International Airport in Mombasa after jetting in the country.
The singer is expected to perform at the Jesus Celebration Centre church in Bamburi during the 25th silver Word Explosion Conference.
Donnie is reported to have landed at the airport at around 12:53 am only to realise no one had gone to pick him up.
The talented singer shared his frustrations on Instagram but later deleted the post.
“I landed in Mombasa, Kenya at 12:53 am Tuesday, and no one is here for me and my sister from the ministry! (We’ve been) approached by a few illegal guys driving their own cars, trying to take our own luggage cart to their car. It has been almost an hour and I’m outside (the airport waiting lounge) in Mombasa. There are no taxis or transportation at 2am in the morning. Two percent battery life left on my phone, and no plugs! Please pray for me,” read the post.
In their defense, a source at Jesus Celebration Centre church said Donnie was expected to arrive on Wednesday morning and not Tuesday, Baraka FM has reported.
The source said the gospel artiste is now being accommodated at a top hotel in the Coastal city.
