The fracas erupted at a residential house within Solai business centre in Rongai Sub County.

According to Solai police boss Samuel Kyalo, Evans Kipsang quarrelled with his girlfriend after he came home late at night before a fight broke out. He said the murder suspect, identified as Veronica Cherono, has since gone underground following the incident.

He said the man who hails from Baringo County was married but lived with a girlfriend at a rented house at the business centre.

“Neighbours said they heard the lovers quarrelling over the deceased’s alleged amorous behaviours before a fight broke out. They heard a door open after an instant silence suggesting that the suspected murderer vanished soon after committing the act,” said Kyalo.

Kyalo added that the deceased had a deep would on his neck and bruises all over the body and head.

Police took the body of the driver to Nakuru General Hospital and have since begun a manhunt to arrest the murder suspect. Kyalo said that a kitchen knife stained with blood was recovered in the house.
