In his quest to hire a new workforce of young and energetic Kenyans, Nairobi governor Mike Sonko's government has set aside SH1.5 billion for the retiring team send-off package.
Sonko, however, cautions those who are out to politicise the matter saying the retirement will be only for those who have attained the age to leave active public service.
“I am doing this to ensure that those going for retirement do so honorably, am not sending anyone away we also want to create opportunities for other people willing to work for the county out there,” said Sonko.
Sonko also assured the county employees that they will be receiving their salaries in time saying that delays experienced in September and October 2017, will no longer be witnessed.
