However, DP Ruto may have enjoyed mammoth crowds during their roadside campaigns but failed short in two goals that may have propel him to spend close to a week in the region.
At Elgeyo Marakwet, Ruto could not come up with a solution on the sibling rivalry emerging between incumbent Governor Alex Tolgos, who is from the Marakwet community while the region has a majority of Keiyo people who feel sidelines because they feel one of their own should be at the helm of county leadership.
In his own Uasin Gishu backyard, Ruto failed to settle the bitter contest between incumbent Governor Jackson Mandago and Independent candidate Bundotich Kiprotich also known as Buzeki.
On Saturday last week, Ruto pleas to Buzeki to thrown in the towel were met with absolute resistance from the businessman-cum- politicians.
