Coalitions for Reforms and Democracy (Cord) leader Raila Amolo Odinga’s political strategist Dr. Adams Oloo has said that President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto capitalized on the case at the international criminal court (ICC) and Mau evictions to win Rift valley.

According to Oloo, Raila stands a better chance to win more votes from this region during the next general elections if the current political situation is anything to go by.

“Each election has its own issues. In 2013, Jubilee used the ICC case and the Mau Forest eviction to whip up peoples’ emotions. Those two issues will no longer be part of the 2017 polls,” said Dr Oloo, as quoted by the Standard.

The former prime minister has the problems of the people living in different parts of the Rift Valley as he seeks for Presidency. Speaking during his tour in Rift Valley, Raila said that he was not going to sit back and watch the people suffer upon election.

“Today I am not here to talk ODM politics but to speak for the current and future generations of the Kipsigis community who will be adversely affected by the dramatic climatic change brought about by the dam. The damage the dam will cause is real,” Raila said.

His tour in the region comes after he agreed to work with Amani National Alliance (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi during the next general elections.
