Renowned political scientist Prof Nyachieo Bogonko has taken a swipe at Deputy President William Ruto, and questioned his ‘bad treatment’ to his fellow political leaders in rallies.
Bogonko's insights follows the latest remarks by Ruto at the weekend where he dismissed the academic qualifications of Baringo Senator Gideon Moi.
And now Bogonko says the DP’s conduct could throw his political ambitions into jeopardy, and challenged him to up his public relations skills.
“We are heading to a general election yet a person of the DP’s stature can go to public forums and throw insults at his political competitors and more regrettably, dismissing their academic records,” said the professor.
“He must up his public relations skills or risk wreaking his political career. He should respect all leaders with equal measure because in the long run he has a legacy to leave. You cannot make political game personal like he has been doing of late,” he said during a funeral in Kisii on Tuesday.
Bogonko also challenged the DP to reach out to his Rift Valley critics among them Senator Moi and Bomet County Governor Isaac Ruto to strengthen his political grip.
“Any kingpin like Ruto should work with minimum resistance in his backyard to succeed. However, his continued rivalry with Moi (Gideon) and Ruto could dent his political ambitions,” Bogonko added during an interview with this reporter.
