NRM risks breaking after a much-hyped swearing in of Raila Odinga was postponed. Speaking to the Star, political analyst Martin Andati said that poor communication is the main reason National Resistance Movement will collapse.

"The postponement was an anti-climax for supporters after the much-hyped swearing-in. Lack of coherent communication from NASA on the issue is complicating the matter,' analyst Martin Andati told the Star.

However, ODM secretary of political affairs Opiyo Wandayi said all was well and a clear messsage will be delivered soon.

“We are asking supporters not to worry, we know how they feel but definitely our principals will communicate on the swearing-in. A major announcement will be made soon,” Opiyo Wandayi told the Star.

The Mombasa announcement that Raila will not be sworn in was seen as a major let down by NASA supporters. Many complained about how Raila and his strategists were wasting time and ever promising to swear him in as the people’s president.

A potential dissent has forced opposition to form committees to convince Members of County Assemblies that there was need to reschedule the swearing in after several counties passed the People’s Assembly motion.

Meanwhile, opposition principals are planning a retreat to hatch a new plan of resisting Uhuru Kenyatta led Jubilee administration. Former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka is expected to attend the retreat together with the burial of Kitui West MP Francis Nyenze.
