Political analyst Dismas Mokua has approved opposition leader Raila Odinga’s silence over the ongoing graft revelations in the country.
The National Super Alliance (NASA) chief has over time been known for his detection skills and has always cautioned the nation on looming scandals.
He has, however, not raised any concerns regarding the recent several sagas, and only lightly touched on the issue in a recent burial ceremony in Kakamega County, simply saying that the same will be tackled soon.
According to Mokua, the veteran leader is right to keep off the issue, noting that he is not under any command to do the job which has been allocated to several state organs.
‘’ Ako na haki ya kunyamaza kwa sababu hiyo siyo kazi yake, kuna wale ambao wamepewa kazi ya kugundua na kupambana na ufisadi (he has every right to keep silent as it is not his job to detect and deal with graft, there are people mandated with the job),’’ he said on Citizen Radio Monday morning.
‘’Asilaumiwe kwa kunyamaza kwa sababu amekua akisaidia nchi kugundua ufisadi na kuna uwezekano ataendelea kufanya hivyo siku zijazo (he can’t be blamed as he has been very important on the issue and is likely to resume in the future,’’ he added.
This comes amid ongoing probe on the mega 9 billion shilling National Youth Service (NYS) fiasco, with others also being reported at the Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) and Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC).
