Speaking on Radio Jambo Tuesday evening, Churchill alleged that the DP is so keen on realizing his presidential ambition in the 2022 general elections, that he is silently pressuring the leaders into fully backing him.

This, he said, is in line with his reported agreement with President Uhuru Kenyatta before the 2013 elections, where the two reportedly made a deal that Uhuru and his allies from the region would back Ruto upon the lapse of his 2 terms in power.

''Viongozi kutoka sehemu ya kati wako chini ya shinikizo kutoka kwa Ruto ili warudishe mkono ilivyokubaliwa mbeleni (Central leaders are under pressure to keep their end of the initial deal with Ruto),'' claimed Churchill.

He also attributed Ruto's pending candidature to the sudden political outburst in the country, especially the ongoing exchange between his side and opposition leader Raila Odinga's quarters.

According to the commentator, the DP is trying to fight off Odinga who is seemingly cunningly trying to stand between him and the throne.

''Sijashangaa kwamba Ruto anapinga muungano wa rais Uhuru na Raila. Kulingana na yeye, Raila anajaribu kumwagia maji mchuzi ambao amekua akiuandaa na ambao anatarajia kuufurahia baada ya kuondoka kwa Uhuru (I am not surprised that Ruto is against the Odinga-Kenyatta truce. To him, Odinga is trying to spoil his pending presidency,'' he added.
