NASA’s best option for a flagbearer would be Kalonzo Musyoka and Musalia Mudavadi regardless of the order, Political Commentator Barrack Muluka has said.
However, Muluka has bashed Kalonzo for his recent public outbursts saying that they might taint his credibility among NASA supporters as well as among his other co-principals.
"What Kalonzo is telling us are matters to be discussed in a boardroom not to be told in the gallery. He must not be seen as to be pushing a selfish agenda as opposed to the coalition's unity and objectives," said Muluka on Citizen TV.
On the other hand Political Analyst Herman Manyora said that Kalonzo-Mudavadi presidential bid would only succeed with a strong backing of Raila Odinga.
"If Kalonzo or Musalia is picked, Raila Odinga must support them, much more than he did Kibaki. He has to support them with all his heart and all the political capital that he has" said Manyora.
Manyora also warned Kalonzo to stop blackmailing and giving deadlines to his other co-principals to agree on a flagbearer saying he stand no chance to win the presidency on his own.
"Perhaps some think they can ‘spoil’ for the others if they move out of NASA. It will be hard because they cannot oust Jubilee from power if any of them goes alone. Beating an incumbent is a hard task," said Manyora.
He urged NASA to choose among the most popular candidate-Raila Odinga, or Kalonzo Musyoka and Musalia Mudavadi.
