Political analyst Brian Mutie. He believes NASA's adopt a polling station idea during elections is uncalled for. (www.scoopnest.com)Political analyst Brian Mutie has differed strongly with National Super Alliance (NASA) for coming up with the adopt a polling station idea.
In his assertion, Mutie believes that IEBC's partneship with security agents and other observers will ensure free, fair and credible elections. With this, he believes that NASA do not require other people to stay behind after casting their votes as it may lead to violence against election officials or other people in areas where polling station border each other.
"There is no need of excessive persons around polling stations after the casting of votes. The adopt a polling station by NASA is ill-informed as it may lead to chaos at the polling stations especially against election officials or to polling stations neighbouring each other," said Mutie.
The analyst further dismissed claims that the security apparatus is going to be used to rig the elections or intimidate electorates in various parts of the country.
"Security personnel all over the country are aiming at ensuring everything runs smoothly on August 8th. The acquisition of security equipment does not necessarily mean there will be chaos on the set date and thus the idea that the elections will rigged or chaotic is baseless," added Mutie.
The analyst made the remarks during an interview on Radio Maisha on Sunday where he called on NASA to give IEBC ample time to execute its mandate to the people.
