A political analyst has warned Cord supremo, Raila Odinga, to be cautious with his utterances adding that he could spoil his chances of becoming president over his reckless talk.
Speaking to KBC English Service Radio on Wednesday, Danston Omari said Raila had once more fallen squarely into President Uhuru Kenyatta's trap by commenting on the International Criminal Court (ICC) issue.
Omari argued that the mere fact that Raila could have been reacting to the President's earlier sentiments that Kenya was considering pulling out of the Hague-based court had given Jubilee a new impetus to hit back at him and link him with a matter widely believed to have cost him the presidency in the 2013 polls.
"Raila should be very cautious with what he says out there especially on an emotive matter such as the ICC. He has now given the President and his camp who were hitherto clueless some fodder and they will use it to hit back in kind," he said.
The former Prime Minister is reported to have said during a Wiper Party National Delegates meeting at Kasarani stadium on Tuesday that the ICC should have jailed Uhuru and his deputy William Ruto in the run up to the 2013 polls as they were facing serious charges of crimes against humanity.
He was reacting to Uhuru's Jamhuri Day's speech on Monday stating that Kenya was reconsidering its position with the Hague-based court.
Already, Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen and National Assembly Majority leader Aden Duale have blasted the Cord leader of trying to use the court to eliminate competition to jail the two leaders should he assume power.
