Speaking on KBC English Service Wednesday morning, the High Court advocate stated that the side that manages to obtain the best lawyers is likely to carry the day in the case resulting from the theft of close to 9 billion shillings at the body.

He advised the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Noordin Haji to acquire the best legal minds in advance, failure to which, he said, he will also go down as another holder of the office who failed to tame the menace.

''The case's outcome will heavily depend on the lawyers as the one who manages to convince the judge on behalf of his client will surely carry the day. Its not about who did it and who did not but about the presentation made by the counsels,'' he said.

''The DPP might be prepared and having sufficient evidence to subject the suspects to punishment but he has to get some of the best lawyers in the country, otherwise, his evidence will not be of any use to both himself and the nation,'' he added.

Among the top suspects in the case is Youth Affairs Principal Secretary Lilian Omollo and NYS Director General Richard Ndubai who have been largely mentioned in the scam.
