Political analyst Dismas Mokua has maintained that both President Uhuru Kenyatta and the opposition leader Raila Odinga have no choice but to attend the forthcoming Presidential debate scheduled for Monday July 24.

Speaking on KTN NEWS Sunday,Mokua said that Kenyans are all eyes on the two as both seek to record a win in the August 8 general elections saying that their performance in the debate is likely to hand one of them a win in the race.

‘’Both have to attend and convince Kenyans that they are the best.Uhuru has to show his report card to the electorate and tell them what he has achieved while Odinga on the other side cannot manage to skip the event as it will give him a very good opportunity to reveal why he is a good alternative to the Jubilee administration,’’ said Mokua who further maintained that the debate should only be between the two as the remaining contestants do not qualify for the opportunity.

‘’The race is between these two.The others are too weak and have not invested in the campaigns and should not even be included in the debate,’’ he said.

This comes at a time when both President Kenyatta and Odinga’s camps have doubted the possibilities of the two taking part in the debate with Mokua saying that their failure to show up will be a disadvantage on their side and Kenyans' as well.
