Nairobi based political analyst Martin Andati has taken issue with Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi's recent calls for a deeper examination, with regards to President Uhuru Kenyatta's lifestyle audit directive.
Speaking during a funeral service on Saturday, Sudi expressed his willingness and readiness to be investigated in line with the directive aimed at taming the rising graft levels in the country.
He further called upon the investigators to dig deeper into the wealth owned by the leading political families, proposing a probe on founding father Mzee Jomo Kenyatta.
However speaking during an interview with Radio Jambo on Thursday, Andati relegated Sudi's proposal to a 'senseless remark', linking it to the lawmaker's alleged 'low education', and noting that he should be educated that the audit can only be done on people who can explain themselves.
''Juzi nimemsikia mheshimiwa wa Kapseret Sudi akisema ati tuanze na baba ya Uhuru, sijui ni masomo yake kidogo maana alikua manamba, lakini anafaa ajue audit inafanyiwa walio hai na sio mtu kama Kenyatta aliyetuaga zaidi ya miaka thelathini iliyopita (maybe it is because of his low education but he should know that the audit can only be conducted on people who are still alive. Kenyatta died over 30 years ago),'' he noted.
Deputy William Ruto has since expressed his willingness to be tested, with President Kenyatta vowing to fearlessly lead the nation in pursuit of a graft-free republic.
