Speaking on KBC English Service on Wednesday, the commentator who, however, proposed a lady for the job, also poured cold water on the opposition-allied leader's claims that she is the best for the slot, terming her bid as misplaced.

Kithi who also doubles up as a lawyer said that the city needs a formidable person who can handle the many problems facing the residents, unlike Passaris who, he said, is yet to make such an achievement.

''Expressing interest and offering oneself for the job is good and laudable but I do not see her as the next Deputy Governor of Nairobi. The county needs a formidable person with a proven workmanship. Though I propose a lady for the job, she is not the one,'' he said.

His remarks were echoed by fellow panellist and High Court advocate Ambrose Weda who cited the Women Rep's inability to perform in parliament on behalf of her opposition block and her constituents.

''Having Mike Sonko as the Governor was a mistake in itself and it will be worse with Passaris, who never even speaks in parliament, as his deputy,'' said the commentator.

Sonko's initial attempt to nominate embattled opposition activist Miguna Miguna to the position has since been rejected and has promised to front another candidate.
