Mark Bichachi, a political analyst, has warned that Senator Hassan Omar risks losing the gubernatorial race if he doesn't change tact.
Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV, Bichachi asked the outspoken Senator who is Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho's critic to focus on his campaigns instead of being a perennial 'cry baby’.Bichachi said though it is Omar's right to erect billboards, he should not spend much of his time complaining over the issue as it would prove counterproductive in his quest to unseat the incumbent.Bichachi added that the Senator who is also the Wiper Secretary General, should device a new campaign strategy including conducting door-to-door campaigns to woo voters. He further said that billboards do not necessarily translate into voters. The political analyst's sentiment comes at a time when the Mombasa County administration has come under sharp criticism from Governor Joho's rivals who are accusing him of using underhand tactics in the gubernatorial race.Joho’s opponents claimed that the county government has denied them licenses to erect campaign billboards.
